how to [waves]

Quite a few people have asked me how I style my hair so here is a little how to…

Products you’ll need:

a curling rod (no clamp), a brush, a tease comb, Morrocan Oil, Morrocan Oil Shine Spray, Beach or texture spray (I prefer David Bubaii, it smells amazing), and hairspray.

Step 1-  wash your hair

Step 2- air dry(if you have time) apply beach spray or texurizing spray, but be careful not to go overboard or it will make your hair sticky.  Apply a couple spritizes at the roots and one or two sprays on the rest of your hair.  When hair is almost dry blow dry until all hair is competely dry.

Step 3- part your hair how you normally wear it and divide into two large sections.

Step 4- take 1-2 inch sections of your hair starting from the top layer and wrap the hair around the curling iron making sure to go away from your face.  Hold for about 10 seconds.  Make your way around your entire head.

Step 5- The tease

I love a little extra volume at the roots, but it’s not for everyone so skip this step if you don’t want va va voom.  Use the ratail portion of the tease comb and take the top layer of hair on the crown of your head, tease.  Repeat with the next few layers around your crown. Hairspray.

Step 6- Hairspray

Spritze your entire head with hairspray, but don’t go overboard!

hold the front pieces back as you spray to give it a feathered look

Quick spritz with the shine spray (skip this is you get greasy easily)

Step 6- Run your fingers through your hair to give it a natural look

You’re Done!

Tip-  I find my hair tends to look best on day 2 or 3.
